Each year WDA sponsors continuing legal education seminars and investigator training seminars on criminal defense issues. Training sessions are held throughout the state and are geared specifically to issues in public defense practice.  WDA's CLEs and trainings are open to members at no charge.  In addition, WDA members receive access to our video library of past CLES, available both via video tape/DVD and on-line streaming video.  In 2007, we provided 19 CLE seminars for 88 hours of training, including 10.5 Ethics credits. 

In addition to our single-day trainings, WDA holds a conference every spring at a resort location in Washington. Members can earn CLE credits while enjoying a weekend with their family and friends.  The 2008 Defender Conference was held at the Sun Mountain Resort in Winthrop, WA and will be held in the same place in 2009.  Attendees received over 7 CLE credits, including 2 Ethics credits for full conference attendance.
