KEEPING YOUR KIDS IN JUVENILE COURT:
DEFENSE STRATEGIES FOR DECLINE HEARINGS
Each year, we see more of our youths being prosecuted as adults and facing the realities of what an adult conviction means to their future. Having a client who is facing a decline or who has been declined is one of the most challenging experiences for an attorney practicing in Juvenile Court. This program will focus on issues that arise for all attorneys who work in Juvenile Court. It aims to concentrate particularly on how to avoid decline for a youth who is facing a discretionary decline hearing and how to negotiate the return of the youth’s case to juvenile court when the case is subject to mandatory decline rules. Email wda@defensenet.org to register.
