Public Defense Services Manager. The Washington State Office of Public Defense (OPD) is seeking to hire one or more Public Defense Services Managers for its Trial Level Defense Program. The position(s) require implementing the state program for the improvement of trial level public defense, administering attorney training programs, consulting with and advising county and city officials regarding public defense contracts and systems, and contributing to other OPD programs. The ideal candidate will possess experience in the criminal justice system as a practicing attorney, as well as one or more of the following: appellate experience, administrative experience, legislative advocacy experience as a policy/legal analyst. This position requires the ability to relate well to public defense attorneys and to officials at all levels of government. Ability to travel within the state of Washington is required. Commensurate with experience and qualifications, the salary is between $70,000 and $90,000 annually.
