Campaign for Youth Justice Issues New Report

Despite federal law that prohibits the incarceration of youth in adult facilities, the number of youth held in adult jails has exploded by 208%, according to a new report released today by the Campaign for Youth Justice (CYJ), a group closely allied with PHR. The report, The Consequences Aren’t Minor: The Impact of Trying Youth as Adults and Strategies for Reform, documents the egregious practice of prosecuting, sentencing and incarcerating youth in the US adult criminal justice system.
