Lousiana Supreme Court Rules to Suspend Prosecution Until Defense Adequately Funded

The Louisiana Supreme Court issued an interesting decision on April Fool's Day. While not ordering the legislature to provide adequate funding for defenders, it did say that if there is not adequate funding, a prosecution can be suspended until there is adequate funding. It also has a nice recitation of what has happened in other states, for example, courts ordering higher fees for defense attorneys. Click on the link below to view the case;
