Yakima County OPD Parents Representation Position Available
The Washington State Office of Public Defense (OPD) is seeking applicants for part time to full time attorney caseloads in Yakima County. The start date is no later than July 20, 2009. The caseload for each full time attorney is approximately 80 cases. The attorney would be required to provide representation for indigent parents, legal custodians, and guardians in accordance with defense representation standards adopted for the Parents Representation Program and to satisfy time and activity documentation requirements of the program.
Annual compensation for each full time attorney position is $102,000-122,400. Compensation for a part time attorney position will be pro-rated based on a percentage of a full time caseload. (For example, compensation for a 0.5 FTE attorney with approximately 40 cases would be $51,000-61,200.) These amounts include all overhead costs such as support staff, rent, and other costs of doing business. Compensation is dependent on experience.
