The Renewed Requirement of Individualized Suspicion for Detention

Lila Silverstein will present a CLE on the need of the state to establish individualized suspicion prior to detaining or searching a person.  The court has recently examined this issue and has made it clear that individualized suspicion is required prior to the detention of a person.  Ms. Silverstein will specifically address the recent case decisions of State v. Smith, which she successfully argued in the Court of Appeals, and State v. Grande.
